Students interested in 3D design and 3d printing now have an opportunity to come to the Media Center during Flex to work on these skills.   The software we use is a cloud-based program called Tinkercad. Before getting started, please watch this short video, which will walk you through the basics of 3D design:

Media Center Updates

This summer the Media Center underwent major renovations and we are excited to share some of the new changes with you.  One of the first things you'll notice when you come in now are all of our books are organized by genre.  We now have separate sections for all of our books!  So now when you come in you can go right to the section you are looking for.  Whether it's fantasy, horror, sports, mystery, or more, we have a section for you!

We also have an amazing selection of  hands-on Makerspace items.  Some of the topics you will be able to explore are

Robotics Kits

Light and Sound Snap Circuits

Computer Circuitry Starter Kits (understanding how USBs work)

Did you know that while on summer vacation you run the risk of losing 2 or more months of reading achievement????  Don't let that happen to you!  Instead Suffield Middle School is offering you a chance to win a brand new Kindle or even $1,000!

All you have to do is read any appropriate book and reflect on it with a 1-page letter or a 5-minute video.  All entries will be eligible for the Kindle prize,  and those who write a letter will also have a chance to win $1,000 through a contest sponsored by the Library of Congress.  Students will be required to submit their letters and videos during the first week of the next school year.
